 **Why Add InterestAlert News to your Site?**
InterestAlert is a powerful ASP service that keeps your site fresh
with up to the minute news.  InterestAlert is the first news
service that not only provides you with headlines AND summaries
for free, but also pays you for pages your users click to.

 **The difference between Syndicated and Brandable News.**
Brandable news is hosted by InterestAlert, so when your users
click through to read either the Full Story or the "More" pages,
they can be optionally branded with your look and feel.

Syndicated content is hosted by other sites like PCWorld and CNet.
You put headlines and summaries on your pages, and your users
click through to the vendors page to read the full story.
InterestAlert pays you the affiliate fee on the "More" pages
but not on the full stories (because we do not control them).
To increase your affiliate income, use more brandable news.

 **Expanding your site by branding**
The More and Full Story pages can carry your brand. You design
them, InterestAlert hosts them and your users feel they are
still at your site.  Every page has your look and feel.  This is
a charge item that starts at less than $200./month.

We pay affiliate fees whether you brand or not.

 **News placement**
For best results put InterestAlert news on your home page in the
top part of the screen. Create lots of topical links with names
from your home page such as Sports, Entertainment, Industry News.
Set up pages with InterestAlert news blocks on those.

 **How we use a cookie at Registration or login**
When you register or login, we send a cookie to your browser.
The cookie ensures that only you can access your account. If your
browser is set to disable cokies, the system will not recognize
you as an affiliate and you will be sent back to the login page.
Enable cookies and log in again.
If you need help to enable cookies, check the FAQ for cookie
information or email sitenews@interestalert.com

* * * Important note for FrontPage or Claris HomePage users * * *
These page generators will try to convert the javascript code to
viewable text.  If they do that, you will see the code, not the news.
To insert the code, pull down the "Insert" menu. Choose "HTML".
This should bring up a dialog box where you can paste the javascript code.
Paste the code, click OK and test your page - you should see the news.
